What is PHIIT?
PHIIT is the Public Health Information and Information Technology arm of the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. PHIIT is a Public Health initiative to deploy the product and service solutions to support secure communication of Public Health Information to all organizations, including physicians, that need to know of a Public Health Emergency.
What is the relationship between PHIIT and eHealth Ontario?
eHealth Ontario is the technology partner selected by Public Health to delivery PHIIT. We develop and host the Public Health Portal www.publichealthontario.ca. We also host /www.ehealthontario.ca used by health care professionals interested in eHealth.
What are Public Health role-based communications?
At every Ontario health care organization, a number of people with specific roles will be entered into a database so they can be quickly notified of important Public Health alerts.
